When AI becomes part of the workplace, new opportunities are accompanied by new questions: how can we use technology without compromising accuracy, security and ethical principles?
This was the focus of the training session ‘Freedom of Speech and Artificial Intelligence: Safely Covering Sensitive Topics in the Media’, which took place on 18 September in Astana.
Journalists and independent writers discussed how to apply AI tools in their day-to-day work whilst taking into account potential legal and ethical risks.
Participants not only learnt about the capabilities of modern technologies, but also discussed issues of media responsibility in the context of the rapid development of AI – from content preparation to handling information that requires particular caution.
The training was organised by the ‘Legal Media Centre’ public foundation with the support of the OSCE Programme Office in Astana and the Embassy of Switzerland in Astana.
