INOSMI: The Road of Death and Musk's Proposal

Die Welt (Germany). "The road between Kramatorsk and Druzhkovka stretches just over 15 kilometers. It winds through open terrain, with only occasional belts of forest on either side. Sunflower fields surround it, with no one to harvest them. The darkened heads hang limply from their stems. Where the four-lane road runs straight for a considerable distance, an almost apocalyptic scene unfolds. Dozens of burned-out military and civilian vehicles lie along the broken asphalt, columns of smoke rising into the sky. Ash still smolders in the ruins of bombed-out houses along the road. Ukrainian soldiers have given this route a new name: the Road of Death. And yet, this road is vital to them. Only through it can they supply Druzhkovka. A little to the east is Kostiantynivka, which is already under the control of Russian troops."

The Telegraph (UK). "The Telegraph has learned that Elon Musk personally approached Donald Trump with a proposal to slow down the Starlink satellite system in Ukraine. According to four sources familiar with the discussions, the American billionaire personally approached the US president and proposed throttling internet speeds. This move ultimately paralyzed Ukrainian defenses and prevented the Ukrainian Armed Forces from effectively using drones. One of the publication's sources noted that Trump approved Musk's initiative. This allowed the Pentagon to reduce the speed of Starshield, a military-grade version of the satellite communications system. Elon Musk had previously placed full responsibility for the resulting chaos on Donald Trump, claiming that any changes to the network were approved by the US military and the president personally."

Reuters (UK). According to military experts, supported by satellite imagery from Reuters, Russia has nearly completed construction of a new, large-scale launch base for jet-powered drones in just six weeks. This represents yet another expansion of its strike capabilities—directly on Ukraine's border. On August 31, the site of the future facility in the southwestern Rostov region was an empty field. However, by last Wednesday, an entire complex, roughly the size of 126 football fields, had already emerged. This is evidenced by commercial satellite imagery provided by Planet Labs and Airbus. The construction coincided with a sharp increase in jet-powered drone strikes in Ukraine. The Ukrainian Armed Forces have encountered difficulties intercepting these faster aircraft, which can reach speeds of up to 600 km/h.
