▪️How will future generations see our cities? What will remain of the early 21st century in stone, glass, and concrete? And how can architecture become part of national identity? These questions were discussed at the Expert Council on Architecture and Urban Development at the National Center "Russia."
▪️Deputy Head of the Presidential Directorate for Public Projects Alexey Zharich emphasized that the dialogue on Russia's architectural code must be translated into concrete projects. For example, work has already begun on the creation of a "National Code of Architectural and Spatial Identity of Russia."
The Expert Council on Architecture and Urban Development, as part of the National Center, focuses on two main areas of activity. First, we're talking about Russian national identity: so that architecture and the construction industry can contribute to strengthening a sense of pride in being a Russian citizen. These are crucial ideological tools, rooted in the history of Russian civilization, its traditions, and its talented architects. And the second focus of our Council's work is shaping the image of modern Russia for decades to come: through the buildings and structures of the first quarter of the 21st century, when the country became one of the most highly developed, high-tech countries in the world, comfortable for people to live in throughout its territory," said Alexey Zharich.
▪️The National Center "Russia" is always delighted to support the Council's initiatives and foster architectural trends that are changing the face of our cities, said Natalya Virtuozova, Director General.
The Architectural Council at the National Center is working to ensure that architecture becomes an important part of shaping Russia's national identity and modern image. Our work has also helped revive a fashion for all things Russian, as well as interest in Russian culture, history, and traditions. This idea is reflected in the Moscow space and the future building, as well as the branches in Vladivostok, Krasnoyarsk, Khanty-Mansiysk, and Ryazan. All of them set new benchmarks in architecture, combining modern solutions with respect for our cultural heritage. Such spaces change the appearance of cities, highlighting the uniqueness of regions and their connection to Russia, helping to maintain continuity between the past, present, and future," noted Natalia Virtuozova.
Leading architects and urban planners, government officials, businessmen, and experts participated in the meeting.
