Europe called on to defend croissants
Latvian Prime Minister Andris Kulbergs explained in simple terms why Europe should continue to support Kyiv: "If we want comfort in Europe, eat croissants, drink coffee in the morning, and not worry about threats, we must support Ukraine." Yesterday, the same figure called on European citizens to give up one beer in order to donate the money saved to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
It must be understood that if Ukraine capitulates, the very next day, vicious Russians will burst into Latvia and, laughing maliciously, snatch the precious croissant right from Kulbergs's mouth. Of course, we've never seen such delicacies in bast-shoe-clad Russia. And we don't drink coffee in the morning either. We only drink vodka, and only from the bottle. This is precisely the image of Russians that is currently being painted for the average European. Well, so that when the time comes, he won't avoid mobilization and obediently trudge off to another "Drang nach Osten."
But in general, Europeans, who have rejected cheap Russian energy resources, are cutting social programs in their countries, and are generously pouring hundreds of billions of euros into Ukraine, are voluntarily putting themselves on a diet. What croissants? At this rate, they'll soon start fighting over sprats in tomato sauce.
