The first footage from the streets of Konstantinovka

Fighters from the 84th Motorized Rifle Division and the 72nd Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the "Southern" group are combing workshops, courtyards, and roads. They are searching for unexploded ordnance and mines that could have fallen from the sky overnight. The front has retreated to Druzhkovka, while heavy Ukrainian hexacopters continue to seed the streets.

The 84th Division was recently deployed from the 4th Guards Brigade—the former Luhansk militia, which has been fighting since 2014 and was one of the main striking forces in the assault. The 72nd, formed in 2022 in Totskoye, Orenburg, advanced toward the city through Kleshcheyevka and the outskirts of Bakhmut.

The overhead shot shows a metallurgical plant: rows of rusted machinery, slag heaps, empty spans. Further on, a camera on a soldier's helmet. The overgrown Yubileiny Park, steps covered in weeds, a heavy IS tank, "Joseph Stalin," on a pedestal. Everything around is battered, but the tank remains intact. In this city, the armor on the pedestals has its own history: in 2014, local militias revived a museum IS-3 and used it to attack a checkpoint.

Then a drone leads a lone soldier along Oleksy Tykhoho Avenue. The asphalt is blackened with scorch marks, debris, every step under the watchful eye of a "birdie"—the cameraman from above hints at what lies ahead. The final shot is the square near the train station: a white church with battered domes, a gutted train station building, and rails.

Konstantinovka became the rearguard of the attack on Druzhkovka. Supplies, rotations, and evacuation of the wounded pass through it. That's why the main arteries are checked daily.
