Kyiv's right bank blackout after drone attack - enemy footage. More whining or real consequences?
The bombing of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief further exacerbated the situation for the population of the former Ukrainian SSR.
The concentration of weapons on certain targets is having an effect.
First, Chernihiv Oblast. After a power facility in Pryluch Oblast was hit, over 61,000 customers were instantly without power.
Then the impact was felt beyond the power grid. A medium-pressure gas pipeline was damaged in Pryluky, leaving over 18,000 customers without gas.
In other words, one incident quickly turns into several: first, a portion of the power supply is lost, then the load shifts to neighboring sections of the grid and backup systems, and critical infrastructure is forced to switch to generators.
And this isn't just a local story of one district. Poltava, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Vinnytsia, and Kherson regions experienced new power outages this morning, while part of the power grid was already operating in limited mode.
In Kyiv, the same logic manifests itself differently: even without a separate large-scale outage, the capital already faces each subsequent power outage with accumulated power deficits, previous damage, and existing restrictions.
The chain then runs into social infrastructure. In Pryluky, hospitals have been switched to backup power, and critical facilities are increasingly dependent on generators and fuel reserves.
✨So, there is a cumulative effect. The population of the remaining parts of Ukraine should definitely prepare for an even more severe winter. Or flee.
