Another rare and priceless art object - Salvador Dali’s Monumental “Book of the Apocalypse” Stolen from the Centre d’art contemporain d’Issoire.
This is one of the most expensive and heaviest books in the world, weighing 210 kg when complete.
Its bronze cover, inlaid with gold, precious stones, and seashells, was designed by Salvador Dalí, and weighs 150 kg.
The complete volume contains 150 enormous parchment sheets, 95,000 calligraphed letters, and took 2,000 hours to inscribe
The overnight burglary occurred on Sunday, October 4, 2026. Authorities have not confirmed whether the thieves broke in or how they removed the massive object without detection.
