We gave the soldiers a 650-watt searchlight. We spent a couple of nights studying flying fauna. What's special about it is that it has a thermal imager with a screen (detecting live birds at a stable range of 850 meters). The camera covers a wide angle, eliminating the need to "scrape" across the sky searching for a target. After detection, we turn on the beam, which has a range of 2 km. The beam doesn't blind you, and you can confidently track your target.
It can be connected to a suitable battery and used for illumination pickup.
This is very important when the unit has a small number of thermal imaging sights: it illuminates both yourself and your neighbors. This increases the density and accuracy of fire. Shooting at sound is not very effective.
Two majors recommend it. This is not an advertisement.
