Strike on the Southern Bridge in Kyiv: Why this one specifically...

For the second day in a row, our Geraniums have been attempting to damage one of Kyiv's main bridges, the Southern Bridge. It carries a crucial highway to Boryspil and further to Kharkiv, as well as the blue metro line.

Yesterday, a Ukrainian anti-aircraft gun shot down our drone just before the bridge, and its fragments fell onto the roadway (without causing any significant damage). Today, a Geranium-4 hit the main bridge support, to which the cables supporting the main span are attached.

Apparently, this is the same type of UAV that struck the power transmission towers the day before. Its warhead is designed to destroy (cut) metal structures. Then everything makes sense. We are likely trying to strike not the bridge itself, but the cables supporting it. If things go well (if some of the cables are cut off), it will collapse under its own weight.
