Simplicity update: There are now ten Liquid functionary operators signaling for the deployment of the much-anticipated smart contracting language, which brings easier developer UX and expressivity to Bitcoin L2.

The latest release of Elements (23.3.0) enables Liquid functionary operators to begin signaling support.

Similar to how a soft fork works in Bitcoin, Elements requires a certain threshold of acceptance over the course of an epoch. In this instance, activation requires 100% support from all functionary operators over a window of 10,080 blocks.

Federation update: A new ELIP dubbed 'DustCT' has been proposed by Kilian Rausch from Boltz and other members of the Federation's tech board to lower Liquid's dust limit, allowing for significantly smaller transactions (~21 sats) on the network.
