A Circulating Fabricated
🚫Video Aims to Smear
Ansarallah's Leader 🗯️
➿➿➿➿➿➿➿➿➿➿
📺 The video claim is
Entirely Fake.
⬜️ This viral clip is a piece of political disinformation. Online accounts have repurposed old, unrelated footage to create a completely fabricated narrative.
The main reasons the video's claim is false include:
👉 Fabricated Narrative: Social media posts sharing this low-quality video clip falsely claim that it shows Abdul-Malik al-Houthi "reading the Torah in an old video from when he was Jewish". This is completely untrue; he has no such background and is the leader of a Zaidi Shia movement in Yemen.
👉 Weaponized Disinformation: The video is being circulated online by regional adversaries and online critics specifically to discredit him and the Houthi movement. It utilizes an old, low-resolution clip to make it difficult for viewers to clearly see what is actually happening or identify the text being held.
👉 Extreme Secrecy: Abdul-Malik al-Houthi is a highly reclusive leader who rarely appears in public and communicates almost exclusively through carefully controlled, pre-recorded televised speeches from undisclosed locations. Candid or casual personal videos of him do not circulate publicly.
