Did the #Tesla Roadster really hit 60 mph in 0.81 seconds?
That question is driving a Polymarket resolution debate.
Tesla first showed a recorded acceleration test, then performed a live run and announced a 0.81-second result.
But Jalopnik reported that no live timing was shown, while Electrek noted technical difficulties with the timer.
For viewers, the announcement may sound decisive. The market rules require something more specific.
To resolve Yes, the Roadster must complete a live, timed 0–60 mph run from a standing start, under its own power, in less than 1.0 second.
An on-screen timing display can qualify. So can an official Tesla-published time for that specific live run. A prerecorded clip or a bare verbal claim cannot.
The dispute comes down to this: does the announced 0.81-second result establish a qualifying live run?
