Keeping Seed Phrase Secret Is Key

A seed phrase, also known as a seed recovery phrase, is a list of 24 words that store the information necessary to recover your account in case you lose access to it. It is crucial to store the seed phrase securely and never share it with anyone. As a non-custody wallet on the TON network, Tonkeeper cannot recover access to wallets without the seed phrase.

⚠️ The Tonkeeper team will never DM you first or ask for funds.
⚠️ Beware of external links or files shared online — don’t click or download anything.

How to Access Seed Phrase in Tonkeeper

1. Go to Settings.
2. Tap on the option “Back Up”.
3. Copy the seed phrase and store it in a safe place.

If a wallet is accidentally deleted or lost, the seed phrase can be used to restore the wallet from anywhere and at any time. However, if it falls into the wrong hands, it can be used against you and cost you all your crypto savings.

Tips for keeping your crypto wallet safe:

1. Never give your seed phrase to anyone. Tonkeeper support team, engineering team, CEO or even the Pope himself will never ask for it. Only scammers want your recovery phrase.

2. Do not enter your 24-word recovery phrase on any website. Tonkeeper has designed secure Ton Connect standard for app-to-wallet communication so users can sign specific transactions without sharing access to your account.

3. Do not trust unexpected tokens that you receive. Anyone can create a token. As our community grows, so does the number of scam attempts. Don’t fall for them. If you receive an unexpected message, always treat it with caution.

4. Tonkeeper support or team never DMs first.
