The reason Shawnt and I broke up was not because we stopped loving each other it was because we kept hurting while trying to stay. We held on to a future we once believed in, even as it slowly disappeared right in front of us. In the end, we became two people standing in the same story but no longer able to reach each other. The most painful part is that I never got to stop loving him before I had to learn how to live without him.
