Once upon a time, when the world was still young, knowledge was confined to the gods. Humans were allowed to know only what was permitted. They could survive, build houses, and gather food, but no more. The gods believed that knowledge corrupted people and made mortals too dangerous.

One day, a girl and her beloved discovered the library of the gods, where the books contained that very forbidden knowledge—knowledge of writing, reading, and the history of their world. When both mere mortals learned of this, they decided to bring this knowledge to others.

The young couple had good intentions, but they broke the gods' most important rule, thereby bringing down the wrath of the gods upon themselves. Their knowledge cost them dearly.

The gods set an example for others by imprisoning the girl as punishment on a vast tower rising above the clouds, with no end in sight.
And her beloved was transformed into a dragon, condemned to eternal wandering between heaven and earth.

Though years turned into decades, and decades into centuries, the young man in the dragon's body remained faithful to his love. He brought her new stories, books, discoveries, poems, and told her of what people had learned thanks to the stolen knowledge.

And they say that if you rise high enough above the clouds, you can see a dragon circling a lonely tower. And if you listen closely, the wind will carry the rustling of pages.

Because once knowledge is out it can never be taken back.
