Це звитяжна і водночас кривава сторінка української морської піхоти. І кривава вона, на жаль, не тільки для ворога.
У жовтні 2023 року морпіхи форсували Дніпро й закріпилися на лівому березі Херсонщини. Згодом українські підрозділи спробували розширити плацдарм, але росіяни підтягнули резерви, зупинили просування й поступово притиснули наших бійців до річки.
Спроби противника вибити морпіхів із займаних позицій супроводжувалися значними втратами росіян у живій силі та техніці. Та й українським бійцям доводилося вкрай важко. Переправи перебували під постійним вогневим контролем противника з повітря та з землі, що ускладнювало постачання й евакуацію.
Зрештою українські підрозділи залишили плацдарм. Багатьом вдалося повернутися, але не всі бійці досі знайшли спокій. Деякі чекають, щоб їх відшукали й гідно поховали.
Пам’ятаймо, якою ціною.🫡
🇬🇧 Three years since the beginning of the operation in the Krynky area.
This is a glorious and, at the same time, bloody chapter in the history of the Ukrainian Marine Corps. And, unfortunately, it is bloody not only for the enemy.
In October 2023, Ukrainian marines crossed the Dnipro River and established a foothold on the left bank of the Kherson region. Later, Ukrainian units attempted to expand the foothold, but the Russians brought in reinforcements, halted the advance, and gradually pushed our fighters back towards the river.
The enemy’s attempts to drive the marines from their positions resulted in significant Russian losses in manpower and equipment. But the Ukrainian fighters also faced extremely difficult conditions. The crossings were under constant enemy fire control from the air and from the ground, complicating resupply and evacuation.
Eventually, Ukrainian units left the foothold. Many managed to return, but not all fighters have yet found peace. Some are still waiting to be found and given a dignified burial.
Let us remember the price that was paid. 🫡
