If you trade when you shouldn't, you will usually lose money.
In most cases, determining when not to trade is quite simple.
But that judgment becomes clouded if you're on tilt, have fear of missing out (FOMO), are bored, or are subject to a variety of other external factors.
Traders try to mitigate this behavior with detailed checklists for entering the market, but they are often too long or too vague to be useful.
Trading is hard enough as it is; Don't make it even more difficult by lowering your PnL due to avoidable mistakes.
