Katie Zacharia lasted five days as White House press secretary. This was the shortest tenure for a White House press secretary on record.

I’m appalled, although not surprised, by the mainstream media’s treatment of Katie Zacharia. One shaky 14-minute briefing and questions about her law-school background were enough for days of ridicule and “brutal” framing.

Trump noted she was treated roughly and suggested she reconsider the role. Whatever the performance issues, I personally believe that the volume and tone of the pile-on went well beyond normal scrutiny of a new press secretary.
