watched this tiktok and then asked myself why do we have this thing named ‘booby trap’.. fell down a rabbit hole and found out that the word ‘booby’ is an old word for a foolish person so a booby trap is a trap that catches a fool

but then i discovered that sailors named this specific bird a booby bird just because they’re clumsy on land and unafraid of humans, making them very easy to get caught

so booby means fool, a booby trap catches fools, and men are attracted to boobs

i’m beginning to see a pattern here
