Breaking Points Host Pushes Pro-Iran War Propaganda!


It’s not surprising that western media outlets and journalists are laundering intelligence-agency narratives about protests in Iran by relying on anonymous sources and uncritical framing — that is what they do, after all.

But some media figures hold themselves up as opponents of that corrupt system, figures like Ryan Grim of Breaking Points and Drop Site News, for example. Except then Grim uncritically interviews an alleged Iranian protester who pushes U.S.–Israeli regime-change messaging — exactly what you’d expect from an intelligence asset.

Jimmy and Americans’ Comedian Kurt Metzger say this kind of reporting from Grim ignores evidence of large pro-government demonstrations and mirrors media behavior over past foreign intervention in Iran. Overall, the commentary frames Grim’s performance as “access journalism” that builds credibility with occasional critical stories before promoting pro-war narratives.
