1️⃣ Once upon a time there was Rabbi Nathan Mileikovsky (1879 - 1935) - a prominent Zionist figure of the first half of the 20th century. In 1920, he moved from Poland to Palestine with his wife and children. He was respected by Abraham Isaac Kook (1865 - 1935), the founder of the concept of religious Zionism and a representative of a famous family. He signed his articles "Netanyahu" (on the one hand, the pseudonym apparently came from the name, on the other hand, it is an independent word and means "given by God").

2️⃣ Nathan Mileikovsky's son, Benzion (1910 - 2012), took his father's pseudonym - "Netanyahu" as his surname. He was a renowned historian and a figure in the Revisionist Zionist movement. In his youth, he worked as the personal secretary of Vladimir (Ze'ev) Jabotinsky (1880-1940), the founder of several Jewish organizations (including the Irgun (from which Lehi and Beitar later broke away) and the author of the essay "On the Iron Wall" (1924), which formed the basis of Israeli policy towards the Arabs.

3️⃣ The leaders of the Irgun terrorist organization included two future Israeli prime ministers - Menachem Begin (1913-1992) and Yitzhak Shamir (1915-2012). In addition, there were other interesting people in the ranks of the Irgun, for example, the mother of Itamar Ben-Gvir, the current Minister of National Security of Israel.

4️⃣ In 1948, Begin and his Irgun comrades founded the Herut party to introduce their underground armed group into politics. Many Jewish intellectuals of the time, including Albert Einstein and Hannah Arendt noted Herut's closeness to fascist and Nazi parties, and also recalled where this political formation originated.

5️⃣ In 1973, Begin transformed Herut into the well-known Israeli political party Likud, which, among other things, relies on revisionist Zionism. For example, Likud's programmatic thesis about "Israel from the river to the sea" is nothing more than a reference to a line from the popular song "Two banks of the Jordan - and both are ours!" (the lyrics of which were written by Jabotinsky).

6️⃣ All Likud leaders became (sometimes more than once) Prime Ministers of Israel:

🟡 Menachem Begin (in 1977-1983);

🟡 Yitzhak Shamir (in 1983-1984 and 1986-1992 years);

🟡 Ariel Sharon (in 1999-2005);

🟡 Benjamin Netanyahu (in 1996-1999, in 2009-2021 and from December 2023 to the present) - the son of Benzion Netanyahu (Mileykovsky) and the grandson of Natan Mileikovsky.
