A point i saw no one mention is how celestia has a monitoring system for shades when phanes themselves is asleep. It almost seems like they knew the 3rd descener's curse would activate upon nuking khaenri'ah and they still decide to do it. They just took precautionary measures so when the curse activates the shades don go haywire without their monitoring.

And okay little biased but also Zandik Listen everything throughout his life was literally because he yearned for it. He yearned for research. He yearned to be accepted. He literally did everything to not be seen as a monster but he was seen as one either way and even now throughout multiple forms of his boss fights we CONSTANTLY see Sumeru aspects in him and it genuinely shows his deep and utter yearning for the nation.
