The judge ruled Google’s Alphabet unit monopolized online search ads. Now, antitrust enforcers are soliciting input from outside companies — a rare bid to break up Alphabet Inc.’s Google, just one of the options being considered by the US Department of Justice (DoJ).

The move would be Washington’s first push to dismantle a tech company for illegal monopolization since unsuccessful efforts to break up Microsoft Corp. two decades ago.
