01.05.24 - Elon Musk's abrupt decision to lay off employees who ran Tesla's electric vehicle charging business blindsided automakers.

Everyone was gearing up to equip new EVs for customers to use the Tesla Supercharger network, industry officials and analysts said.

Also, Tesla’s taking a more conservative path on 'gigacasting' manufacturing making suppliers anxious, but experts say it's no surprise because it's too expensive. Instead, Tesla will move forward in developing a self-driving 'robotaxi' to compete against China's flying taxi’s eVTOL, Reuters reported.
