In September 2022, 19-year-old Ankita Bhandari, a receptionist at Uttarakhand’s Vanantara resort, was murdered. Resort owner Pulkit Arya and two associates were sentenced to life imprisonment in 2025. However, questions surrounding the VIP angle remain a major concern for her family.
🚨 On October 15, Ankita’s parents were detained by Delhi Police around 4 AM during a protest at India Gate. They were released around 5 AM.
⚖️ The controversy has now intensified: Dushyant Kumar Gautam was appointed Sikkim Governor on October 12, despite the ongoing CBI investigation into the alleged VIP angle. Ankita’s family is demanding that his appointment be put on hold until the investigation is completed, alleging his links to the case.
Gautam has denied the allegations and initiated defamation proceedings against those accusing him.
