Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis announced, farmers of drought-hit areas will receive ₹5,000 each in their bank accounts before Diwali as immediate financial relief.
➖ The state has declared 305 of Maharashtra’s 358 talukas drought-hit.
➖ The relief will be provided as an advance while the Centre’s drought-assistance process takes time.
➖ Other measures include crop-loan restructuring, electricity-bill concessions and fee waivers for farmers’ children.
