Central Armed Police Forces (General Administration) Act, 2026 came into effect today, bringing a common legal framework for BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP and SSB. The law governs recruitment, promotions and senior-level appointments, including provisions for IPS deputation in top CAPF posts.

President Droupadi Murmu had given assent to the Bill on April 9, 2026.
