Germany is ready to sign the proposed $8 billion Project 75(I) agreement once New Delhi completes its internal approvals.

The deal covers six next-generation conventional submarines, to be built in India by ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems (TKMS) in partnership with Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders, with significant technology transfer and domestic manufacturing.

The project aims to strengthen India's conventional submarine fleet and deepen India-Germany defence cooperation.
