see i think i like 'enemies to lovers' ships but in my mind i don't call them enemies to lovers cuz, first of all, i don't want them to be lovers a lot of the times just very messy and complicated situationships, second, it became associated with romantasy court dramas so much i can only see it used for political enemies, and third, i don't think the word enemy is descriptive enough of anything anymore because it's used for any kind of disdain involved in a dynamic. it's just too shallow to evoke anything in me. are they actually enemies or just really dramatic rivals. are they on the opposite sides of the conflict and as such technically enemies but are actually fond of eachother. if they want eachother dead are they really enemies even. maybe haters to lovers. exes to fuckers. literally anything else
