Can nuclear technology and human connection go hand in hand? ⬇️

That’s what Dhita Ariyanti, a researcher from Indonesia, discovered during the InteRussia Fellowship Programme in Nuclear Technologies.

From expert-led training in nuclear energy to an unforgettable visit to Obninsk, the fellowship became a space for scientific discovery, international dialogue and new professional connections. Dhita also began a joint research project with fellow participants from Nigeria, Uzbekistan and Pakistan — work that is still continuing today.

Her experience proves that science is about people, collaboration and ideas that can help build a better world.

A closer look at Russia’s energy sector 🔋

The InteRussia Energy Fellowship continued in Moscow. Over the past few days, fellows from Latin America visited Russian energy companies and museums to see how the industry works in practice and learn more about its history.

📍 Transneft

The fellows visited the Transneft headquarters, where they learned about the company’s work and the processes involved in transporting oil. They also had a chance to see the “Returned History” exhibition, dedicated to Russian emigration and its legacy.

📍 Mosenergo Museum

The fellows visited the Mosenergo Museum, where they explored the history of Moscow’s energy system. The tour focused on how thermal power plants work, how electricity and heat are produced, and what equipment is used at different stages of the process.

The two visits covered different parts of the energy sector — the transportation of oil and the generation of electricity and heat. It was another opportunity to see the industry up close and connect what they discuss during the fellowship with real companies, technologies and infrastructure 💡

The InteRussia international energy fellowship programme is implemented at the premises of UNECON in cooperation with the Mezhdunarodniki Autonomous Non-Profit Organisation, the Gorchakov Fund, and the TV BRICS international media network, supported by the Global Energy Association, the Russian Energy Agency (REA) of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, the National Committee for Economic Cooperation with Latin American Countries, and the Presidential Grants Fund.
