InteRussia fellows continued exploring Russia’s theatre community with a visit to the Russian Theatre Union. There, they met Vladislav Miller, Chairman of the Union’s Youth Council, for a conversation about Russian theatre, its traditions, and the new generation of actors shaping it today.
Vladislav Miller spoke about:
🔴 Oleg Tabakov’s theatre school and its influence on generations of Russian actors;
🔴 how theatrical traditions and professional approaches are passed from one generation to another at the Moscow Art Theatre — which our fellows will be visiting very soon;
🔴 what professional life looks like for young actors in Russia today, from their first steps in the industry to the opportunities available for creative and professional growth.
The fellows brought their own experiences into the conversation, sharing how theatres work back home and comparing the opportunities and challenges young actors face across different countries.
The InteRussia Fellowship in Theatre Arts is implemented by Mezhdunarodniki Autonomous Non-Profit Organisation in cooperation with the Gorchakov Fund, GITIS and TV BRICS International Media Network. The programme is implemented as part of Rossotrudnichestvo’s flagship New Generation initiative with grant support from the Presidential Grants Foundation.
