What is the International Lêgerîn Academy?

➡️It is a month-long political training course on the paradigm of democratic modernity. With the opening of this third session of the Lêgerîn Academy, we want to develop an online political training space for young people around the world who are interested in learning about and discussing the socialist paradigm developed by Abdullah Öcalan.

Through this training, we want to strengthen our ties, exchange about our different contexts and participate in the construction of a new internationalism for the 21st century!

💥 The new issue is NOW AVAILABLE 💥

What if the youth were going to save the world? Last autumn, this thought was on everyone’s mind, as young people rose up in the name of Gen Z from Nepal to Peru.

In this new issue, we take the time to look back at these uprisings and ask ourselves: how do we move forward from here?

This issue #19 brings together reflections from ongoing struggles, insights from youth movements from different continents, and new perspectives on building a democratic, communal future.

🌳The Tree of Freedom – An internationalist poem from the Zagros Mountains!

Until today in some french villages an old tradition continues. Coming from the Zagros mountains, at the dawn of civilisations, when trees were symbols of communal life.

Growing in the village's heart, it was the place of celebrations, discussions, assemblies, meetings and contemplations...

🎥Who Are You? A New Music Video from the Resistance for Rojava! ✨

In January 2026, as the Rojava Revolution faced brutal attacks, the Kurdish people and thousands of internationalists standing with them mobilized around the world to stop the aggression.

The aim of the offensive was not only physical but also ideological: to attack the values and principles at the heart of the revolution—women’s liberation and the brotherhood and sisterhood of peoples.

The mass mobilization succeeded in putting an end to the attacks and protecting these values.

From the heart of the mobilization, internationalists wrote this song that we are sharing with you today.

Share it around you!

Full lyrics:

Who are you who knows the truth ?
That has the strength to reclaim history from the roots of humanity
It starts from a mother song in the silence
The melody of resistance
Joining the call of Rojava
We get close to your voice Rêber APO

🕊Salih Muslim felt martyr yesterday

“Salih Muslim always viewed the revolution in Rojava in connection with the democratization of Syria. He also worked intensively for the democratization of the Middle East in line with the concept of the democratic nation. In this context, he worked with great dedication to put the political line developed by Abdullah Öcalan into practice"

On this special day, March 8th, International Women’s Day, we share a letter from a friend of Şehîd Denîz.

Through these words, we remember her courage, her commitment, and the spirit she carried in the fight for freedom. Her life and friendship continue to inspire those who knew her and those who learn her story today.

On this day dedicated to women around the world, we honour not only Denîz, but all women who resist, lead, and fight for dignity and justice.

Her memory lives on.
Her struggle continues.

Şehid Namirin- the fallen are immortal.

Shengal (Sinjar) in northern Iraq remains shaped by the 2014 genocide carried out by Islamic State against the Yazidi people, when thousands were killed, women were enslaved, and communities were uprooted. In the aftermath, local self-defense forces and grassroots councils formed to protect the community and build self-determination.

For years, Shengal has been a zone of contested power between Baghdad, the Kurdistan Regional Government, militias, and Turkey.

In the last few days, Iraqi army forces have set up a new checkpoint without prior coordination with local Yazidi security forces — raising fears of renewed tensions. This expansion comes amid regional pressures and diplomatic efforts to manage the disputed status of the area, but local voices fear that more militarization could undermine fragile stability.

Shengal still symbolizes an ongoing struggle against genocide, external domination, and self-rule — where the fight is not just about security, but about political autonomy and dignity.
