🇻🇺 Vanuatu: new rules for obtaining and renewing passports
The Vanuatu government has made changes to the procedure for obtaining and renewing passports.
▪️ Now, in order to obtain or replace a passport (including a biometric one), it is necessary to obtain a local Birth certificate and the national ID card.
▪️ For new applicants, obtaining these documents is now a mandatory step in the citizenship application process, which will slightly increase the duration of participation in the program.
▪️ The application for a National ID card must be submitted within 28 days of receiving your passport, and we recommend that you prepare these documents together with your new passport right away to avoid delays when renewing your passport in the future.

⚡️ The Vanuatu passport continues to be one of the fastest passports in the world. It takes an average of 2-3 months to process (remote applications without biometrics have been extended until September 30, 2025), and after that you can travel the world (over 90 countries) or apply for EU residence permit, conduct international business, open foreign bank accounts and enjoy many other benefits for the rest of your life.
