🇺🇸🇷🇺🇨🇳🇰🇵🌍⚡️ — The world is approaching a Third World War: the number of armed conflicts has reached its highest level since the Second World War, says the FT.
According to estimates by the International Crisis Group, 65 conflicts are currently ongoing worldwide.
The war in Ukraine, the confrontation between the US and Iran, and tensions around Taiwan could escalate into a global clash. An additional threat is posed by the growing alignment between Moscow, Beijing, Tehran, and Pyongyang.
The world order is breaking down, and Putin, Xi Jinping, and Trump are increasingly viewing the world through the prism of spheres of influence. At the same time, Trump is questioning the US willingness to defend its allies.
The key question is whether Russia will dare to attack a NATO country, and China to attack Taiwan, if they are not sure about Washington’s intervention. This could determine whether a global war can be avoided.
