🇺🇸🌍⚡️ — Senior executives at OpenAI, Anthropic and other artificial intelligence development companies are secretly preparing for a possible public and political backlash that could follow a serious AI-related incident.
According to Axios, executives fear that a major cyberattack carried out using artificial intelligence could disrupt banks, internet access, and electricity and water supplies.
Many industry experts believe such an incident could occur within six to twelve months, which could lead to calls for stricter regulation or even a pause in the development of advanced AI systems.
Companies are already preparing for possible action by Congress, including proposals to introduce emergency shutdown systems, while seeking to influence future US laws on artificial intelligence.
