🇷🇺❌🇺🇦 — Russia has begun using a new version of the Geran-5 strike drone that can keep flying without GPS or a connection to its operator, Ukrainian monitoring groups claim.

The K5 modification is fitted with the Susanin autonomous optical navigation system. It reportedly guides the drone by reading the terrain below and comparing it with preloaded reference images.

This allows the drone to stay on its assigned route even if satellite navigation is jammed and the link with the operator is lost.
