Oil Production Vessel Explodes Off the Coast of Nigeria

The Trinity Spirit, a vessel able to store about 2mn barrels of oil, blew up early Wednesday, SEPCOL, which has the vessel on lease, said in a statement.

The blast could prove to be the second major environmental blow to strike Nigeria in the past 3 months after a month-long oil spill hit the Niger Delta last year.
