Meta and Yandex were found secretly tracking Android users’ web activity without consent, even in incognito mode. Their apps used hidden scripts to collect browsing data, bypassing Android’s privacy protections.

Google condemned the practice, calling it a violation of security principles. Meta paused the feature and is working with Google, while Yandex denied collecting sensitive data, saying it’s only for app personalization.
