Instagram announced new efforts to boost enrollment in its protective Teen Accounts by using AI to better detect users’ ages and involving parents more directly.

Teen Accounts limit contact, content, and screen time for young users, requiring parental approval for changes. Over 54 million teens have enrolled, with 97% of 13- to 15-year-olds choosing to stay under the protections, which are now also available on Facebook and Messenger.
