Sony is exploring a future where your PlayStation controller could help handle payments.

The idea is not quite “tap your credit card on the DualSense and buy a game.”

Instead, the controller could detect a nearby phone or card, receive payment information through something like NFC or Bluetooth, and pass that data securely to the console.

So yes, Sony may eventually want the controller involved in checkout too.

Because apparently pressing X to buy was not futuristic enough.
