The Ouroboros
β
The life you want is being consumed by something you keep feeding. This serpent eating its own tail is called the Ouroboros. What it destroys is also what keeps it alive.
β
Life feeds death and death feeds life. They look like opposites, but they're part of the same unified process. And you can even see this happening within yourself.
β
Every time you give in to the same habit, you feed the version of yourself, you keep saying you want to leave behind. Then you wonder why nothing is changing. For something new to live, something old has to die.
β
That's why giving up on a destructive habit can feel like you're losing yourself and even your life. You've repeated it so often that it's become a part of who you think you are. But the energy keeping that pattern alive is the same energy you need to build a different life.
β
Self-mastery is deciding where that energy goes. Because what's consuming the life you want is the version of yourself you keep feeding.
