Meanwhile, the European Union purchased €581.2 million worth of oil from Russia in February.

In fact, Europe increased its imports of Russian oil in February to the highest level since October 2024. According to Eurostat data, these purchases totaled €581.2 million in monetary terms, with physical oil exports rising 13% month-on-month.

The EU bought more oil from Russia only in October 2024, when purchases reached €686.9 million.

Hungary was the largest buyer, importing raw materials worth €247.9 million—an increase of 16.5% compared to the previous month. Slovakia followed with imports totaling €206.6 million.
