The Indian Express From addiction to anti-drug crusade: Punjab activist Jhota’s fight ended in the same market where it began The 42-year-old activist, who once battled substance abuse himself, built a following by confronting alleged drug peddlers on camera. He was shot dead by a chemist shop owner he had confronted in 2023, leaving behind his parents, wife and two sons.
