Something feels different about the week ahead.

Trump is heading into the UN gathering with Iran tensions still hanging over everything, while at the same time leaving the door open to actually meeting Iran’s president. And behind the scenes, U.S. and Chinese officials are already preparing the ground for Trump’s meeting with Xi.

Maybe these are separate stories. Maybe they aren’t. Iran. China. Trade. Oil. War. Diplomacy. All of them are suddenly converging in the same few days.

I don’t think this will be a normal week in Washington. Sometimes the biggest shifts happen while everyone is watching something else.

Watch the meetings. Watch who shows up. And more importantly, watch what happens after.
