CIA declassified briefing from May 22, 2001 shows officials already had a captured terrorist describing a Bin Laden hostage plot that included possible hijackings

Less than four months before 9/11

A captured terrorist told CIA that Bin Laden and Egyptian Islamic Jihad were planning three separate operations to kidnap U.S. diplomats or civilians. The goal was to force the release of the “Blind Sheikh” Omar Abdel Rahman and other prisoners held in the United States.

The Bush administration was well aware of these threats. They did nothing.
