Danny Danon, Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations, approached a member of the Iranian UN delegation to hand him the Starlink satellite router that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had displayed during his speech at the UN General Assembly.

In his speech, Netanyahu said that such a router could help members of the Iranian delegation if they ever decided to defect.

In Iran, Starlink routers enabled opponents of the regime to access the internet when the authorities shut down internet services and cut communications with the outside world—particularly following the unrest in January, during which tens of thousands of Iranian protesters were reportedly killed by regime forces.
