📌 It's no secret that IELTS Writing, alongside Speaking, is often the most challenging section for many test-takers. And for good reason!
💡 Imagine: just 60 minutes to tackle two rather demanding tasks⤵️
〰️ Task 1 (20 mins): Analyze graphs, data, or write a formal letter.
〰️ Task 2 (40 mins): Write a full-length academic essay.
🚀 When Valeriya and I started on the Writing section, it quickly became clear: she needed a structured system.
1️⃣ Mastering Task 1: The Art of Description
We began with an in-depth dive into all graph types – from line graphs to pie charts. We unlocked the "winning" vocabulary and phrases that precisely and elegantly describe data changes.🔥 Special attention was paid to style and, crucially, punctuation – a particular challenge for Valeriya! She learned to craft flawless introductions, well-developed body paragraphs, and strong conclusions for her reports.
2️⃣ Elevating Task 2: The Power of Persuasion
Next, we immersed ourselves in essays. We explored various types, from argumentative to problem/solution, mastering how to:
🟡Construct a compelling introduction that clearly states her position.
🟣Develop arguments logically in the main body.
🔵Craft a powerful, memorable conclusion.
✈️ The vocabulary and phrasal verbs Valeriya had learned early in our preparation now flowed naturally into her graph descriptions and essays. This wasn't just mechanical task completion; it was a true integration of all the material she'd studied!
💛 As a result, her Writing score began to climb, and with it, Valeriya's confidence soared as she approached her exam!
