💜 Valeriya's Strengths: Developed listening skills, excellent audio comprehension, strong English reading (especially medical texts), grammatically accurate speech.
💜 Valeriya's Weaknesses: Limited vocabulary and simple grammar in speech, lack of academic writing knowledge, English punctuation difficulties, gap between passive and active language use.
Learning Steps 💜
💜 In the language improvement stage, we focused on the 20 most important vocabulary topics. This was covered in the “Vocabulary for IELTS” course. We trained them with a unique five-step method:
💜 First, Valeriya learned the necessary vocabulary.
💜She then listened to the correct pronunciation and repeated it.
💜Next, she actively applied these words in diverse, practical exercises.
💜Finally, she reinforced her learning with review tests.
💜 In the “Phrasal Verbs for IELTS” course, we concentrated on the 20% most frequently used phrasal verbs. These provide 80% of the impact in real-life communication.
💜 For Speaking, our "IELTS Speaking" course taught 18 strategies for all question types. This was reinforced through 20-minute individual sessions and 40-minute Live Speaking Workshops.
💜 Listening preparation focused on two areas: immersion in question types to predict formats, and the strategy of "Recognizing Destructors" to identify examiner traps. She learned to identify marker words, intonations, and phrases. These signal an upcoming "destructor."
💜 In Reading, Valeriya learned to analyze paragraph structure, identify main ideas for information. She mastered our Scanning and Skimming strategies. She gained a detailed understanding of all tricky Reading task types.
💜 In the Writing preparation stage, we thoroughly covered all graph types, from linear to pie charts. We explored "winning" vocabulary: precise words and phrases that beautifully describe data changes. Special attention was given to style and punctuation. We studied various academic essay types, from argumentative to problem-solution.
💜 The vocabulary and phrasal verbs Valeriya learned early in her preparation were now confidently and naturally integrated into her graph descriptions and essays.💜
