A former Director of Homeland Security just published a scenario in Foreign Affairs detailing a terror cell using AI to design a new H5 and pump it into farms around the US, decimating the food supply, and killing millions.

Numerous tabletop exercises have been conducted in recent months with staggeringly similar scenarios: AI used to enhance pathogens. Anthropic reported last week it had detected this happening — with H5!
