how quickly we forget that the vast of big ct accounts were BEARISH near the bottom

ppl are still massively underestimating the socioeconomic setup where it'll become harder and harder to get rich by following the trad 9-5 career path which only gets stronger w/ AI acceleration. AI is coming to disrupt basically every industry especially digital labor and entire categories of white collar work are going to become cheaper, compressed, automated or simply useless

so CRYPTO becomes an escape route from the perm underclass for a lot of ppl, because it's one of the very few places sitting at the frontier of experimentation, AI, internet culture, and entertainment

basically the highest-speed experimental financial sandbox on earth, arguably even more extreme than sports gambling because the thing you’re betting on can itself become a community, meme, product, protocol or social movement

what we saw onchain this last month should give you an idea of how what’s coming could be 10x bigger / more explosive than anything we lived through in previous cycles. experimentation with projects / protocols is only accelerating from here, up and to the right

and this time we’re gonna have the biggest streamers / influencers in the world registered on trading social apps like pump fun, trading publicly in front of millions of ppl = ENTERTAINMENT FINANCE

now think about the demand side of this:

you have an entire global population of young ppl waging paycheck to paycheck, watching their future become increasingly threatened by AI while football players, influencers, streamers, traders and dudes selling cursor wrappers print millions online

ofc they’re desperate for a way out

at the same time they’re slowly realizing that everything is kinda a ponzi anyway. ultra billionaire boomers sitting on S&P500 / real estate at ATHs, mocking their poverty and wagedom after getting access to MUCH better income/asset ratios when they were young

the old deal was basically: work, save, buy assets, wait.

but what happens when the assets already did the 50 year pump before you even entered the game?

so for someone young, with little capital and few / no obvious paths to life changing money through traditional work, the only perceived way out increasingly becomes:

HYPERGAMBLE your way to as much money as possible through speculative markets like crypto & perps = moonshot investments

and i think this cycle will be marked by a level of desperation + escapism that most ppl are massively underestimating. enough to completely blow away a lot of boomer ideas around “efficient markets” (p/e ratios, value, fair value, etc etc... all increasingly outdated in a world where ATTENTION itself can be FINANCIALIZED)

you can call it irrational, but markets are made of humans. and when millions of ppl simultaneously decide that slowly compounding at 7% for 40 years is not gonna get them where they want to be, their definition of “rational” changes too

none of this is really new in human history btw. different periods of monetary instability / extreme speculation have produced the same kind of behavior over and over again. Weimar speculation, tulip mania, dotcom, whatever. it's human nature

it’s a period of seemingly infinite pumps, everyone chasing the next big thing, everyone watching someone else turn 3 figs into 6 figs and desperately aping whatever they think can be the next 100x

at some point the fear of NOT holding the next runner becomes bigger than the fear of losing money

narratives appear overnight, new markets get created faster than anyone can "dyor" them, and capital rotates at absurd speed. eventually millions of people convince themselves they’re already late while the whole thing is still getting exponentially bigger

if this thesis is even remotely correct, what we experienced in previous cycles may look tiny compared to what happens when AI acceleration, hyperfinancialization and entertainment finance fully collide
